Need For Speed Underground: 1/4 Mile Challenge
If you have ever played another Need for Speed game, you know that speed is truly the name of these games. In this quarter mile challenge, it's up to you to show that you're fastest car on the road.
Controls
What's cool about this game is that instead of focusing on you steering the car, you get to focus all of your attention on your driving and shifting skills. To hit the gas, press the spacebar on your keyboard. When you're ready to kick it up to the next gear, press the up key. If you need to shift down a gear, press the down key. The most exhilarating part of this game comes when you're ready to fire your NOS. When you reach this moment, press N to unleash the full speed of your vehicle.
Gameplay
After you press the Start Game icon in the middle of the screen, you will be given a view that looks like you're actually sitting in the driver's seat of a car. You will see gauges for your time and speed at the top of the screen. Below that is an icon of your car that will allow you to see how far you've gone in the quarter mile. You can also see your gear shift configuration by looking to the right area underneath your view of the street.
If you don't have any experience driving a car with a manual transmission, this game will help you learn. Because it's quite realistic, you have to make sure your skills are on point in order to achieve an enviable time.
