The really hard part of this game is that in order to win, you must finish in 1st place every single race. After a while you will get the hang of the controls and soon become a master of the tracks. The controls tend to be very sensitive, and to move forward you simply hit the up arrow on your keyboard. Going around turns, and there are many, requires you to hit the right or left arrows, depending on which one you need. The constant winding turns are what get most players who attempt to beat this game the first time around.
At the bottom of the screen you will see the lap you are on as well as your fuel, speed, and time. You will be able to use this information to drive accordingly, but make sure you stay focused on beating all of the cars that are ahead of you. If you come in second on even one race, you will not win the entire game.
While you may start out slow at first in this game, you quickly accelerate, making it harder and harder to control where you are going. A majority of people who play this game for the first time lose control and go off-track onto the grass, which slows you down until you get off. What will help you win the most in this game is simply to become accustomed to the controls and learn how to go fast while still making all of the necessary turns so you can keep pace with everyone else and eventually pass all the cars on the track.
